Jonathan Lewin is a distinguished law enforcement leader who has made a significant impact at both the local and federal levels. He has an impressive record of not only conceiving but also successfully executing game-changing initiatives that enhance public safety. Lewin has earned recognition for his collaboration with law enforcement agencies, organizations, and individuals in the federal, state, local, nonprofit, and community sectors who share his commitment to promote modern law enforcement practices. By leveraging technology and transparency, he has been instrumental in building mutual trust between law enforcement and communities, which is crucial for maintaining safety for all. Currently serving as Supervisory Policy Analyst at the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS), Lewin served as Acting Deputy Director at INTERPOL Washington, an agency of the U.S. Department of Justice, He retired as Bureau Chief at the Chicago Police Department-- where he served for twenty-eight years. During his tenure, he introduced award-winning programs to enhance public safety, many of which have become best practices. He holds an MA in Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School, an MA in Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University, and a BS in Administration of Justice from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Lewin is a proud Chicagoan and graduate of the Chicago Public Schools.
